What Do We Do?

We help people develop a beautiful lawn. The lawn treatment service was pioneered in the UK by GreenThumb in the mid-1980’s. We are Britain’s lawn experts.

The lawn treatment concept incorporates four pre-scheduled visits to domestic lawns each year. Each treatment includes seasonal bespoke lawn food as well as weed/moss control applications. The four treatments are usually carried out between March and December each year, approximately ten weeks apart. During the autumn and winter period, the business carries out its "optional lawn beneficials" of hollow-tine aeration and scarification. This autumn/winter treatment period is usually the busiest, due to demand from existing customers.

Who Are We?

In 1996, having successfully grown the business for 10 years, Stephen Waring (founder of GreenThumb) was encouraged to develop the business through franchising, enabling others to grow their own successful lawn treatment business. They would enjoy confidence in the knowledge that the franchisor had many years of successful growth through various economic fluctuations and climatic conditions, including a recession and a drought!

All of our franchisees enjoy the benefits that come from operating a successful and lucrative franchise business, and we would be content to introduce you to all of them to find out for yourself.

What do I get for my money?

Territory Size: Tens of thousands of detached and semi-detached homes, excluding terraces, flats and commercial properties.

Franchise Package, including Licence Fee: £26,500 + VAT

Franchise Location Requirements:

This package requires the Franchisee to have a dedicated office for the operation of the business from the outset. This location may be from home or if preferred from dedicated business premises.

Start Up Package

• Initial Promotional Marketing Campaign, targeting the majority of potential customers in the area.
• Bespoke Computer System, including laser printer.
• Material Stock for servicing hundreds of lawns.
• Lawn Care Machinery and Equipment.
• GreenThumb Uniform, including PPE (personal protective equipment).
• Vehicle on Contract Hire, livered and ply-lined.

Initial Training Course

The Franchisee Fee covers the Initial Training of one person. A second person may be allowed at the discretion of the franchisor – approval to be requested in writing. Additional personnel requiring training at this time will have to be arranged with the Franchisor. This also applies to NPTC training/examination.
