The Story So Far

Established in 1989, Signs Express opened its' first centre to be run as a pilot operation conceived with the specific aim of becoming a successful franchise company. The pilot centre still operates and enables us to develop new products and carry out research. The first franchise was awarded in 1992 and since then the pioneering franchise programme has grown the Signs Express group into the hugely successful franchise it is today.

Signs Express are the UK and Ireland's largest sign company and are in a unique position to offer nationwide solutions that no other sign company can. With a network of more than 80 centres, our franchisees are ideally placed to benefit from multi-site national customers.

In addition, all Signs Express centres are accredited members of the British Sign and Graphics Association who have presented the group with numerous prestigious awards.

Training and Support

Our 4-week residential training courses are held at our custom-designed training facility where you will meet the support team and other franchisees. You will also be shown technical and production techniques so you will know exactly what your staff will do to ensure you have a thorough grounding in every aspect of the business. The programme also provides assistance in locating premises, recruiting staff and covers every aspect of the set-up and fit-out of your centre.

From day one of operating, you'll receive a wealth of ongoing support by a team of experts at our head office in Norwich who combine an invaluable mix of industry experience dedicated to helping you establish and grow your business. The team of experienced managers and 20+ support staff are always on hand to answer queries and provide support for any problem you may encounter. Additional courses, if needed, are also available for both you and your staff.

You will be based in a light industrial unit which better suits the business to business market. This gives lower rents than high street locations which tend to be more suited to retail operations in the consumer market. In particular, because of the layout of the premises, all centres have a climate controlled vehicle application bay in which vehicle graphics can be applied in the best environment to ensure a quality finish.

With a large network of successful franchisees, our recruitment process has to be rigorous to protect the existing network. We look for focused professional business people, who will enjoy the challenge of running their own business and who have the will to succeed.

As a management franchise, our programme is designed around recruiting experienced sign makers for the production process. Our franchisees do not need a background in the sign industry but you will need:

If your chosen area has already been allocated, you may find that a neighbouring territory is still vacant.
